Partnering for the first international summit on elevated lipoprotein(a) in Brussels

We were proud to help organise and deliver the first Lp(a) Global Summit 2025, held on 24–25 March in Brussels. Under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, the Summit brought together more than 60 leading scientists, clinicians, policymakers, advocates, and patient representatives from around the world. The Summit was timed to coincide with International Lp(a) Awareness Day (24 March) and addressed a long-overlooked gap in cardiovascular health that affects as many as 1 in 5 people worldwide.

A call to action: Test, test, test
Organised by FH Europe Foundation under the scientific leadership of Prof. Florian Kronenberg (Austria) and chaired by the International Lp(a) Task Force, the Summit set out with a clear objective: to make Lp(a) testing routine, accessible, and free for all—at least once, and as early as possible in life. Discussions explored systemic barriers to testing, the lived experiences of people with elevated Lp(a) levels, emerging opportunities for health policy change, and the future of clinical practice.

An event driving change in EU health policy
The Summit was carefully aligned with key EU health policy milestones: the Cardiovascular Health Roadmap, the launch of the European Health Data Space (EHDS), and the December 2024 EU Council decisions on cardiovascular health. It underlined the need to integrate Lp(a) testing into national cardiovascular risk assessments and to strengthen preventive care across Europe.

The Brussels International Declaration on Lp(a) Testing and Management
The event culminated in the release of the Brussels International Declaration on Lp(a), a policy-driving document that will influence cardiovascular health initiatives at the European and international levels.

• Selection, negotiation, and coordination of external contractors:
  – Choosing the venue (hotel) based on the client’s preferred country and city, and coordinating accommodation, meeting room rental, catering, and other servicessrečanja

  – Producing promotional materials for participants and the photo wall
  – Creating the event landing page

• Visual Identity Design: We developed the overall graphic identity of the event, encompassing the website, social media materials, presentation templates, accreditations, the photo wall, and speaker backdrops.
• Participant coordination and on-site support: We managed the full registration process, provided real-time guidance and information, and resolved any issues on-site.
• Communication support: We assisted with website and social media content, and published live updates during both event days to amplify visibility.
• Budget preparation and comprehensive cost management
• Post-event webinar: A few days after the Summit, we organised a special webinar for the client to present the key findings – results of the first global Lp(a) Summit, impact of Lp(a) as a cardiovascular risk factor, the scientific and economic perspectives on testing, and the objectives of the Brussels Declaration.
